This year, Acoustic Design Systems sent six team members to CEDIA 2025, the premier home technology expo. Among them were two AV installers who earned their spot through outstanding work, offering our team an unmatched opportunity to learn and connect.

Empowering Our Team Through Education
Professional development was another highlight. Field Operations Manager, Sean Goldfinger, called the HTSA Furls Management training a game-changer:
“The training reinforced that as managers, our role is to guide and enable our team, not just be the ‘doer.’” Learning to empower employees ensures we can deliver smarter, faster, and more efficient solutions to our clients.
Spotlight on Innovative Technology
Control and lighting solutions took center stage this year. Both COO Eric Barbine and AV Engineer Terry Fryfogle pointed to the AVA Remote as a standout. Eric praised its ability to create new opportunities for smaller Sonos systems, while Terry highlighted its sleek, intuitive design as “an affordable option for homeowners who don’t need a full-scale control system.”
The team was equally impressed with Crestron’s refinements, from elegant Cameo dimmers and keypads to smarter, more user-friendly software. As Eric put it, the Ketra demo “just blows your mind” with what lighting can do to transform a space, and Terry noted how Crestron’s updates show they’re truly listening to customer needs.
Other innovations that caught our attention included:
- Samsung’s Ultra-Thin 115″ TV: Eliminates the need for a One Connect box, making installation cleaner and simpler.
- Video Walls: Once considered a luxury, they are now becoming more affordable for bars, nightclubs, and even high-end homes.
- SnapAV’s Brand Integrations: Offer smoother interoperability across their ecosystem.
- JTech’s Affordable HDMI Extenders: Provide practical solutions for aging systems at a time when many vendors are raising prices.
